FIELD: electronic technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electronic technology, namely to electro-vacuum devices of the O-type, and can be used in low-voltage traveling wave tubes (TWT) of continuous and pulsed action of the millimeter wavelength range. The traveling wave tube of the millimeter wavelength range contains an electron gun, energy input and output, a collector, a decelerating system of the “meandering waveguide” type and a magnetic periodic focusing system containing a series of annular magnets sequentially located along the axis of the decelerating system, between which annular pole tips made of soft magnetic material are located. The decelerating system is made in the form of a longitudinal row of cells made with a constant pitch, in each of them the counter plate is made with a rectangular protrusion and additionally has a short-circuited segment of the waveguide in the E-plane. A number of cells form the input and output sections, between which there is a section with microwave energy absorbers. The length of the tube is divided into three sections with different phase velocity of the working slow wave along the central axis in the direction of the electron flow.

EFFECT: increase in the average and pulse output power of the device at a low operating supply voltage, an increase in efficiency and operational reliability in continuous operation.
