FILTERING UNIT AND METHOD OF CLEANING FILTER CANDLES OF CANDLE-TYPE FILTER Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: cleaning filter candles of candle-type filters. SUBSTANCE: cleaning is performed by means of cleaning fluid delivered in direction opposite to filtrate by gaseous medium kept at excessive pressure; cleaning fluid is delivered through filter candles. Each filter candle has inlet for cleaning fluid and second inlet for gaseous medium kept under pressure which is located above first inlet. Film of fluid continuously maintained on inner wall is subjected to action of pulsating flow of compressed gas. Filtering unit has dividing baffle between space of non-filtrate and filtrate in which candles are held by their upper ends; interior of each candle is connected with filtrate space. Filter candle has passage for cleaning fluid in form of circular slot formed by inner wall of candle and part of tube supplying gaseous medium. Tube supplying gaseous medium under pressure terminates above filter candle and/or circular slot. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of cleaning. 7 cl, 2 dwg
