DEVICE FOR PREVENTION AND EXTINGUISHING OF FLUID BURNING IN TANKS Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: fire- extinguishing equipment; applicable in prevention and extinguishing of fires of inflammable fluids in tanks of various types. SUBSTANCE: device has source of incombustible gas, foaming solution with density exceeding density of combustible fluid and located in lower part of tank with inflammable fluid, and two bubblers. One bubbler is installed in inflammable fluid, and the other, in foaming solution. Each bubbler is communicated with source of incombustible gas by means of pipeline with shutoff valve. Pipeline shutoff valve of the first bubbler is functionally connected with temperature pickup installed on fluid surface, and shutoff valve of other bubbler is connected with ignition enunciator. Location of foaming solution in lower part of tank with combustible fluid makes it possible to increase operate reliability of device due to exclusion from it of special vessel for storage of foaming solution and system of its supply, and to reduce time between moment of operation of ignition enunciator and foam appearance at surface of burning.
