FIELD: chemical, petrochemical, petroleum refining, heat and power, food and other industries; applicable in separation of oil products from contaminated waters, aeration of sewage waters and other media and their homogenization. SUBSTANCE: method includes saturation of liquid with gas at intensive mixing, its flotation, removal of emersed impurities and discharge of purified liquid. Saturation of liquid with gas is combined with dispersion of inclusions contained in liquid by hydrodynamic cavitation treatment. Device for method embodiment has flotation cell with bottom perforated collector, mechanism for removal emersed foam of flotated impurities and discharge of purified liquid, and also pump. Device is also provided with hydrodynamic cavitation mixer with gas inlet pipe. Pressure pipe of pumping-over pump is connected with inlet pipe of hydrodynamic cavitation mixer whose outlet pipe is connected with bottom perforated collector.
