FIELD: fuel oils. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to treating, storing, and preparing for combustion in boiler units mazut-based liquid fuels and consists in emulsifying mazut-water mixture followed by heating. Before and after emulsification, to fuel is added 2 to 10 wt % of pyrolysis tar. Emulsification is carried out by means of hydrodynamic cavitation treatment under specified conditions. Installation contains heater, cavitation apparatuses, and recycle line. Heater is mounted in fuel burner- supply line. EFFECT: increased boiler efficiency and reduced nitrogen oxide release. 20 cl, 1 dwg
