FIELD: methods of monitoring quality of ball bearings by analysis of their vibration characteristics. SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes calculation of frequency masks for separate components of bearings which form its vibrations followed by measurement of bearing vibration signal during its rotation, conversion of this signal to digital form and forming of at least two equivalent realizations at which initial magnitude of signal of each subsequent realization is final magnitude of previous realization; then quick Fourier transform is performed, amplitude spectrum is separated and is compared with calculated frequency masks of separate components of bearing, part of energy of each component in vibration is determined and state of bearing is estimated. After conversion of signal into digital form, low-frequency signal is separated and rarefied by selection of discrete magnitudes of signal at scanning frequency fsel satisfying condition fsel≥2fmax,, where fmax is maximum frequency in spectrum of process; time sequence formed from set of realizations of signals is subjected to further analysis.
