FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: artificial ground for plant growing comprises nutritive layer (ion-exchanging polyacrylonitrile filament) and root layer made in the form of nonwoven thermally glued material of stapled polyester or polypropylene filaments. Root layer is positioned on water-retention layer of cellulose filaments (cotton, flax, viscose) in the form of combings or nonwoven material. Artificial multilayer ground may be used for growing plants in greenhouses and independent objects satisfying requirements for closed ecological systems, in apartment and public buildings. EFFECT: increased efficiency by reduced specific content of dried plants and increased green mass volume. 2 cl, 1 tbl
