FIELD: electrified railway transport. SUBSTANCE: proposed universal splicing fitting for contact wires contains two pads with slots, teeth and notches and also bolt joints. Fitting is provided with stops made in each pad through which ends of butt-joined contact wires are bent. Arc-shaped projections are made in lower part of each pad. Said projections have maximum height in center of pad and minimum height to edges of pads, and notches are made on slots. Diameter of stop exceeds twice as great diameter of butt-joined wire. Thickness of projection is 1.5-4.5 mm and its height is from 4.5 ÷ 0 mm. EFFECT: prevention of knocking on butt joint at passing of pantograph pan, possibility of butt-joining of wires with different degree of wear. 3 cl, 3 dwg
