HINGE Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: mechanical engineering; hinge joints. SUBSTANCE: proposed hinge contains movable member and cylindrical housing, both made in form of half-couplings. Movable member had cross section. Axial compressive load is taken by ball arranged in cavity of end face part of movable member and in cavity made in stop found in cylindrical housing. Balls fitted in side cavities of end face part of movable member and in elongated slots made in cylindrical housing transmit torque from movable member to cylindrical housing. Cup is made by coating with raw rubber with subsequent semivulcanization in split mould. Lower part of cup is formed directly on surface of movable member. Upper part of cup is located in inner end face part of cylindrical housing, is secured by nut and clamped by semirings. Sealing ring is installed between nut and end face surface of cylindrical housing. Holes for lubricating liquid are made with stop on outer surface of cylindrical housing. EFFECT: improved protective properties of cup, enhanced reliability of hinge joint in operation at higher axial loads. 2 dwg
