METHOD OF GAS CHROMATOGRAPH ANALYSIS OF CONTENT OF ADMIXTURES IN GASES AND DEVICE FOR REALIZATION OF THIS METHOD Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: analytical chemistry; methods and devices for conducting gas chromatograph analysis of content of admixtures in natural gases. SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes preliminary drawing sample of medium under test, concentration of admixture on sorbent by heating and introducing medium thus formed into chromatograph. Sample is drawn by means of absorbing tube located in passage of chromatograph evaporator and filled with activated aluminum oxide used as sorbent. Heating of absorbing tube is performed directly in passage of evaporator; desorbed agents are eluted by flow of helium into gas chromatograph column through second evaporator. Device proposed for realization of this method includes at least one gas chromatograph column whose inlet is connected with one of evaporators, passages for supply of carrier gas to evaporators which are connected with carrier gas source through six-way metering cock and detector mounted at column outlet. Passage of second evaporator is provided with blank on one side and with absorbing tube on other side. Mounted in upper part of absorbing tube is capillary tube which is connected with other evaporator through metering cock. This evaporator is connected with column. Supply of carrier gas to evaporator passage is effected through upper edge of absorbing tube. Proposed method ensures determination of moisture content in natural gas at error or 3% and confidence coefficient of 0.95. Range of concentration of moisture is from 10 to 1000 mg/cu m.
