FIELD: gas treatment. SUBSTANCE: hydrogen sulfide is removed from gas with the aid of aqueous ammonia solution and then desorbed in the form of acidic hydrogen sulfide-containing gas. The latter is processed to yield elementary sulfur by way of partial oxidation followed by two-stage catalytic conversion at temperature superior to dew point and condensation of sulfur by cooling first-stage conversion products. After first-stage catalytic conversion at 240-280 C and condensation of sulfur, first-stage conversion products are heated to 400-650 C and passed into the second stage, whereas leaving gas is returned into coke gas flow. EFFECT: enhanced process efficiency and reduced emission of sulfur compounds.
