FIELD: control over characteristics of liquid media by thermophysical method. SUBSTANCE: thermophysical method to determine average molecular mass of polymer solution by method of heated filament includes preparation of standard solutions of polymers of certain concentration and with different average molecular masses, recording of change of value of unbalance signal of bridge measurement circuit incorporating measurement and comparison cells for standard solutions of polymers and for solutions of polymers with unknown average molecular mass, construction of graduation graphs, determination of unknown average molecular mass of polymer by graduation graphs. Two first amplitudes of damped oscillations of neighboring periods directed unilaterally are found to construct graduation graphs by curves of change of unbalance signal of bridge measurement circuit in time, degree of damping is computed by them with the use of specific formula. Graduation graph of dependence of degree of damping on average molecular mass is plotted. Then value of damping for solutions of polymers with unknown average mass is computed. EFFECT: updated instrumental methods of control and increased accuracy of determination of value of average molecular mass of polymers in solutions. 4 dwg
