FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to equipment providing precision displacement of workpieces and it can be used in vacuum equipment for precision displacement of articles under examination, for instance, in precision roughness indicators and some simple versions of scanning microscopes. Proposed device contains base, carriage and ball screw drive including ball screw train whose nut is secured on carriage and screw is installed in bearings secured on base and is connected with rotary drive. Ball screw drive is furnished with additional ball screw train installed in the same manner as indicated above ball screw train so that their screws are parallel to each other. EFFECT: improved efficiency of device owing to reduction of friction losses. 4 cl, 1 dwg
