FIELD: method and device for transfer of the rear edge (2) of sheet (6) in a sheet turnover mechanism of the sheet rotary press. SUBSTANCE: the device accomplishes the transfer of the rear edge (2) of sheet (2) run over the previous sheet-running cylinder (8) of the sheet turnover mechanism (10) of the sheet rotary press. The device has a rotary vacuum suction cup, which for separation of the rear edge (21) of the sheet from the previous sheet-running cylinder 4 moves out from under periphery (16) of cylinder (8), catches the rear edge (2) of the sheet and transfers it in the tangential area, passing between the peripheries (16,24) of cylinders (4,8), to the sheet clamping surfaces of the gripping device (14) of the subsequent sheet- running cylinder (8). After gripping by the sheet clamping surfaces of the gripping device (14) of the sheet rear edge (2) the mentioned gripping device (14) turns in such a way, that the surfaces run back under the periphery (16) of the subsequent sheet-running cylinder (8) for transfer of the rear edge (2)of sheet (6) to the second gripping device (42). This provides for transfer of the rear edge (2) of sheet (16).
