FIELD: electrical engineering, electric rolling stock to raise power factor of electric locomotive. SUBSTANCE: facility to compensate for reactive power includes voltage transformer, rectifier- inverting converter of electric locomotive with traction motor, source of reactive power made up of inductance and capacitance connected in series, sensor of operating conditions of network incorporating voltage pickup and current pickup, synchronizing pulse unit, control unit. First output of sensor of operating conditions of network is connected to input of synchronizing pulse unit whose output is coupled to first input of control unit which second input is connected to second output of sensor of operating conditions of network. Facility is supplemented with commutator and second source of reactive power connected in series. Voltage transformer is connected to supply network through current pickup and voltage pickup is connected in parallel with supply network. Output of control unit is coupled to first input of commutator. Capacitors of sources of reactive power are interconnected and are connected to second input of commutator. Inductances of sources of reactive power are linked to third and fourth inputs of commutator, leads-out of secondary windings of voltage transformer are connected to load inputs and to fifth-eight outputs of commutator. EFFECT: raised power factor thanks to improved form of output current and more complete compensation for reactive component of input current under various operating conditions. 7 dwg
