FIELD: ferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method involves directing strips through rolling stands; measuring and regulating flow rate of cutting liquid; measuring cutting liquid temperature at inlet end (during feeding into rolling stand) and at outlet end (during discharge); regulating temperature profile of working rolls of final stand by sectional (sonal) cooling thereof; during rolling, measuring temperature of cutting liquid at inlet and outlet ends of final stand in discrete mode in predetermined time intervals; determining actual temperature difference and comparing it with desired value, with total consumption of cutting liquid in group of stands previous with respect to final stand, between temperature measurements being regulated by mathematical dependence. EFFECT: increased efficiency, reduced nonplaneness of rolled strips and decreased consumption of self-emulsifying oil for producing of cutting liquid. 1 tbl, 1 ex
