FIELD: ferrous metallurgy, namely rolling steel hot rolled strips in continuous multistand mill. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of passing strips through rolling stands; setting linear effort in last stand; controlling thermal profile of rolls by their sectional (zonal) cooling. At rolling process setting value of linear effort in last stand according to given formula: , where Pl=P/B is linear effort of rolling in last stand, ts/mm; P is rolling effort, ts; ν is rolling rate, m/s; kD = (0.8-1.0) is empiric factor characterizing influence of rolling roll diameter upon linear effort, dimensionless; 1.24 ts/mm; 0.40 1/mm; 0.11 1/rad; 0.2 ts/sq. mm is empiric coefficients; 0.35 is minimum thickness of strip after last stand, mm; 15 = empiric value, m/s. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of thermal control of planeness degree of rolled products due to intensified heat supply from cutting fluid, lowered wear of rolls. 1 tbl, 1 ex
