FIELD: wood working.

SUBSTANCE: device comprises base, carriage mounted on the longitudinal guiding members, mechanism for setting the log in rotation, mechanism for locking the log at the center of the spindle, and second carriage mounted on the transverse guiding members. The carriage is provided with the milling cutter and drive. The milling cutter is mounted for permitting vertical movement. The mechanisms are secured to the base. The second carriage is mounted above the centers for locking the lag and is provided with hollow cylindrical shaft whose one end is connected with the plate of the transverse guiding members and has rotating pulley-nut. The other end of the hollow cylindrical shaft engages the sleeve whose face is provided with the other plate that has the milling cutter with a drive. The hollow cylindrical shaft receives the screw whose one end is secured to the plate of the sleeve and other end is connected with the plate of the hollow cylindrical shaft by means of the pulley-nut and has rotatable handle. The sleeve is provided with clamp and is made of a pin provided with threaded shank and bushing. The pin and bushing have wedge-shaped bevels and are mounted in the opening of the lining secured to the sleeve. The shank of the pin engages the nut for the tension of the pin and bushing.
