FIELD: nuclear power engineering. SUBSTANCE: method for disposal and long-time storage of spent nuclear fuel and other highly active wastes of nuclear power plants includes boring of wells, 2.8 to 3 m in diameter and up to 100 m deep, its casing with steel- concrete lining of two concentrically arranged carbon-steel shells, and concrete filling in-between. Upon casing well with external shell it is tamped with concrete-cement mortar and well bottom is concreted before inserting internal shell. Then baskets with boxes are loaded and mounted on brackets welded to internal shell, one basket being tightly joined to other. After that well is closed with cap and clay dike is made around the latter. Enclosed well is cooled by means of air intake devices to remove residual heat transfer. EFFECT: enhanced storage period of spent fuel; improved environmental friendliness. 1 cl, 2 dwg
