FIELD: mineral fibers. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to technology of inorganic fibrous materials chiefly based on quartz glass fibers, which can be used for manufacturing plate and profiled products destined for heat engineering, radio engineering, and chemical industry. Method consists in breaking fibers and simultaneously preparing water-fiber molding paste, which is achieved through wet grinding of fibers on ball mill at fiber concentration 20 to 60 wt % until polydispersed fiber particles 0.1 to 500 mcm in size are obtained. Density and other properties of material are controlled through varying concentration of fibers in molding pate according to relationship: ρ = 1,5•c0,7, where in ρ denotes density of material in crude product and c is concentration of fibers in molding paste.
