FIELD: ferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: proposed furnace includes at least two electrodes introduced into melting reservoir at the top and at least one hearth electrode which are so located that two arcs are formed; these arcs pass obliquely to center of melting furnace. Melting reservoir is extended upward by means of central shaft for loading material 11 to be molten into reservoir and for forming column of material to be molten. Suction unit 3.1 provided in shaft extension is used for evacuation of waste gases formed in the course of melting of metal burden. Provided near shaft in furnace arch are openings for arrangement of suction units 3.2 used for evacuation of dust and waste gases from reservoir. Unit 3.1 is engageable with unit 3.2, thus forming common unit 3. At point of engagement of said units, change-over members are located for actuating only one unit and/or for forming combination of flows of waste gases depending on loading and melting processes. EFFECT: increased capacity of furnace; reduced loads; reduced emission of waste gases. 9 cl, 4 dwg
