FIELD: electrical engineering, chemical sources of electric energy. SUBSTANCE: invention deals directly with composition of hydrogen-sorbing alloy for negative electrode of nickel-metal hydride storage cell. Known hydrogen-sorbing alloy including misch metal, nickel, cobalt, aluminum and manganese is added with chromium and /or zirconium with generalized formula MmNiαCoβAlγMnϕCrθZrη where . Addition of chromium and/or zirconium with specified proportion of all components secures, on the one hand, decreased rate of alloy degradation, that is, its dispersing, oxidation, leaching out of individual components and, on the other hand, raised mobility of hydrogen in volume of particles of alloy and rate of progress of electrochemical stage of process on their surfaces. Technical result of invention consists in considerable rise of electric characteristics at negative temperatures and in prolonged service life of nickel- metal hydride storage cell in combination with high starting value of discharge capacity.
