FIELD: medicine, biology, virology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to antiviral activity of preparations. For inhibition of activity of herpes simplex virus honey an aqueous solution (Kriomelt MH) is added to cultured cells Vero EG or Hep-2 infected with herpes simplex virus. Kriomelt MH is prepared by using bidistillated water by its freezing to obtain ice and its cooling and keeping to temperature in ice mass 20 C, not above. Then honey is dissolved by its applying on ice cooled surface taken in the amount 20-25 wt.-% and keeping at cooling up to honey crystals formation by all ice volume in the amount 0.1-0.4 ml of standard 0.5% solution to 1.9-1.6 ml of cultural medium. For inhibition of activity of herpes simplex virus in cultured cells infected with herpes simplex virus the preparation zovirax and, additionally, honey an aqueous solution (Kriomelt MH) are added to cultured cells in the following ratio of components: zovirax, 0.0025-0.005 mg per 1 ml of nutrient medium; honey an aqueous solution, 0.0125-0.5 mg per 1 ml of nutrient medium. Method provides inhibition of activity of herpes simplex virus in human cultured cells by preparations without toxicity and in the optimal ratio of doses.
