Abstract RU 2214480 C1

FIELD: non-ferrous metallurgy, equipment of shops winning aluminum by electrolytic process, design of cathode enclosure for electrolyser of frame type. SUBSTANCE: given cathode enclosure of aluminum electrolyser has metal bath with longitudinal walls with windows to bring out cathode bars lined on the inside, face walls and bottom installed inside rigid framework formed by frames made fast to supporting frame. In compliance with first variant transition zone of longitudinal wall to bottom is rounded with radius equal to 10-20 thicknesses of bottom sheet of bath or longitudinal wall. Thickness of longitudinal wall in transition zone amounts to 1.5-2.0 thicknesses of bottom sheet of bath. Thickness of rib of frame in transition zone is 1.5-2.0 its main thickness and of inclined strengthening rib is 1.2-2.0 thickness of lateral strengthening rib. According to second variant metal strap with width equal to 1.0-1.5 width of flange of frame and height equal to 3.5-4.0 rounding radius of angular part of bath is fixed with electric rivets on bottom sheet and longitudinal wall in zone of transition of bottom to longitudinal wall. EFFECT: prolonged service life of cathode unit and consequently of aluminum electrolyser thanks to modification of design which enables high mechanical stress in hazardous zones to be diminished. 6 cl, 5 dwg
