FIELD: agriculture, dairy cattle breeding. SUBSTANCE: the present method deals with biochemical blood analysis to determine erythrocytic potassium level in heifers. At potassium level up to 19 meq/l animals are referred to highly productive ones, with shortened terms of farm usage and low performance during life period; at potassium level being above 26 meq/l animals are referred to low-productive ones but with high performance during life period and prolonged terns of farm usage. The method enables to rapidly and accurately predict cows' performance during life period in their earlier age and terms of farm usage under conditions of monsoon climate.
