FIELD: construction engineering; applicable in testing of frozen peaty grounds in construction of motor roads and oil-gas structures. SUBSTANCE: method includes translucence of frozen peaty ground in solid mass by three coordinate axes with measurement of light wave velocity, determination of stress value and calculation of Lode parameter. Translucence is carried out simultaneously in two points of ground mass at same depth, one translucence is carried out beyond limits of structure, the other, under structure, with location of said point under middle of structure base and in center of boreholes forming cube with side equaling translucence base and at least half of width of structure base. Characteristics of stresses for two points are compared and their difference is used for calculation of Lode parameter by offered mathematical expression. EFFECT: increased efficiency and accuracy of determination of ground stress state. 3 dwg
