FIELD: construction of motor roads and like structures. SUBSTANCE: roll has at least four rollers mounted on frame so as to be in contact with side surface of flexible shell in offset relation to shell edges, with two rollers at each edge. First pair of rollers positioned at shell edges are provided with eccentric pins rotated by hydraulic drive including hydraulic pump, hydraulic distributor and hydraulic engines with shafts coupled to roller eccentric pins. Second pair of rollers positioned at shell edges are also equipped with eccentric pins rotated by drive including hydraulic engines and hydraulic distributor. Eccentricity of eccentric pins of second pair of rollers is less than that of first pair of rollers by 2-3 times. Volume of hydraulic engines of second pair of rollers is preferably less than that of first pair of rollers by 1.5-2 times. Hydraulic engines of drive for second pair of rollers may be connected through hydraulic distributor to hydraulic pump of drive for first pair of rollers. Roll of such construction may be used for layer-by-layer compaction of preliminarily designed made ground and gravel-and-broken stone material for constructing motor roads. EFFECT: increased efficiency in compacting road material by wider range of frequency and amplitude of vibratory effect acting upon road materials. 3 cl, 4 dwg
