FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: method involves providing transition of basic diploid sorts to tetraploid level by colchicinization or other known method; separating reversible diploid plants by morphological and other economically valuable features and using said plants as basic material; producing polyploids by doubling ploidy feature of basic sorts at any initial level thereof and growing said sorts during several generations; simultaneously with it, selecting in each generation recombined polyploid forms different from basic polyploid morphological type; multiplying each individual selected form during number of generations; selecting in each of generations forms with reversibly multiple-reduced ploidy feature - reploids by morphological, biochemical or other features; determining ploidy level thereof by direct calculation of chromosomes; evaluating reploids by combination of economically valuable features through separation of forms differing from plants with basic ploidy features by changed or novel quantitative or qualitative features. EFFECT: increased polymorphism of plant qualitative and quantitative features, provision for obtaining of novel features and recovery of features lost during phylogenesis process without using mutagenes of different nature. 2 cl, 3 tbl, 1 ex
