ANIMAL AND PLANT WASTES REPROCESSING METHOD Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: feed production, in particular, utilization of animal and plant wastes for obtaining of protein additives. SUBSTANCE: method involves dosing and grinding of components; mixing, extruding and cooling of resultant mixture; after extrusion process, providing fast forced pneumatic discharge of steam and air from extrudate; effectuating repeated extruding with fast forced pneumatic discharge of steam and air from extrudate in case moisture content of basic mixture is 30%. Content of animal wastes in basic mixture is 10-80%. Method provides wider range of reprocessing wastes comprising animal and plant components and allows additive to animal, bird and fish ration to be obtained. Even with increased moisture content of basic products, method enables obtaining of product suitable for prolonged storage. Also, necessity of employing specialized dryers and various energy sources is eliminated. During reprocessing, product is exposed to temperature and pressure for short time so as to provide for protein digestibility and lysine assimilation.
