METHOD FOR HERNIOPLASTY OF LARGE AND GIANT POSTOPERATIVE HERNIAS Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: medicine, surgery. SUBSTANCE: one should carry out plastic closing and strengthening of hernial entrance. Moreover, hernial sac should be dissected in two along the wound. Hernial entrance should be strengthened with duplicature out of hernial sac's fragments upon nutritive pedicle. Superior fragment is sutured up from peritoneal side towards inferior edge of hernial entrance. Muscles are sutured above the fragment. Inferior fragment of hernial sac is sutured up to opposite edge of hernial entrance. Autodermal transplant is applied onto inferior fragment to be sutured to underlying muscles. The present method enables to strengthen posteriolateral abdominal wall reliably and provide prophylaxis of hernial relapses. EFFECT: higher efficiency of operation. 6 dwg
