THIN-LAYER SETTLER Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: apparatus for separation of two immiscible media of different density. SUBSTANCE: proposed settler is used for separation of different media such as liquid-liquid, gas-liquid, liquid-suspension; separation of mixtures such as condensate-glycol, gas condensate in processing oil gas, treatment of sewage and clarification of vegetable oils and petroleum products. Settler has vertical housing, branch pipe admitting flow to be separated and branch pipes for escape of separated phases. Located inside housing is stack of thin-layer elements which is provided with blank; thin-layer elements are arranged at spaced relation; each element is made in form of funnel directed downward. Upper edge of inlet branch pipe is connected with base of thin-layer element which is nearest to branch pipe. Each thin-layer element is provided with sectionalizing fins smoothly located over generatrices of funnel. Clearance between elements is equal to height of fin. Funnel is assembled from plates ; each plate is made in form of equilateral trapezium and sectionalizing fins are formed by beads found on lateral faces of trapeziums. Lower base of trapezium has cut and beads are provided in area of this cut. EFFECT: avoidance of secondary mixing of phases. 3 cl, 4 dwg
