FIELD: testing equipment. SUBSTANCE: method testing permeability of separation shell consists in leak-proof placement of separation shell between two chambers, in filling of one chamber with working liquid and of another chamber with test gas and in evaluation of permeability of separating shell. Carbon dioxide is utilized in the capacity of test gas, it is filled to testing pressure and then released to atmospheric pressure with simultaneous measurement of volume of released carbon dioxide. Judgment on permeability of shell is made by amount of released carbon dioxide. EFFECT: enhanced authenticity of test, potential for control over permeability of shells structurally positioned inside assemblies, for instance, separation shells of tanks.
