FIELD: changeable shield for protecting hazardous parts in storage and/or in transit. SUBSTANCE: shield designed for protecting solid cylinders filled with gaseous materials such as uranium hexafluoride in transit has at least two members for assembling them to form shield. Each member has external shell made of fiber-reinforced plastic material, internal shell made of fiber- reinforced plastic material, low-density core material filler placed in space between external and internal members of shells; packing means disposed on joint surface between at least two members of shield, and fastenings for holding at least two mentioned members together. Proposed shield does not require additional components for protecting valve of cylinder it holds. EFFECT: reduced mass, enhanced life, reparability, resistance to fire, corrosion, and atmospheric effects. 21 cl, 13 dwg
