FIELD: railway transport. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in locomotives and high-speed electric trains. Proposed electromagnetic rail brake contains shoe with magnetizing coil, spring suspension and central guide bracket rigidly secured on bogie frame with thrust brackets of shoe. Guide bracket and spring suspension are rigidly secured on crossmember furnished with journal hinge-mounted in guide rigidly coupled with bogie frame. Lever mounted on said journal interacts with rod of crossmember angular turning control pneumatic cylinder. EFFECT: improved reliability of electromagnetic rail brake owing to provision of stepless control of braking forces in process of braking the vehicle. 2 dwg
