FIELD: measuring technique.

SUBSTANCE: used for optical registration in the visible part of the spectrum of light signals arising in the process of studying self-luminous fast processes. The optical method for measuring time intervals in the study of fast processes consists in optical recording on a photosensitive carrier of light signals generated when the test object is actuated; time intervals are measured by the resulting image using time marks, the period of which is inversely proportional to their frequency. The signals are formed in the visible part of the spectrum from the operation of spark gaps and the test object, from the generated signals, zero signals are isolated from the operation of spark gaps corresponding to the moment of starting the process, and the following light signals from the test object, a pulse is applied simultaneously to the spark gap switches and the test object, transmit light signals through the lens of the registrar to the carrier, determine the time interval from zero signals to the response signal of the test object using time marks.

EFFECT: expanding the operational capabilities of a single experiment.
