SUBSTANCE: invention relates to diving, aviation and sports medicine, and can be used to determine resistance of the human body to the toxic effect of oxygen. Hyperbaric oxygenation is carried out in a pressure chamber, followed by analysis of heart rate variability (HRV) using the Kubios HRV program. Indicators are determined VLF (log), Stress index, SD2/SD1 ratio, NN50, Max HR, alpha 2, LF (log), VLF (Hz), LF/HF ratio, Approximate entropy (ApEn), linear discriminant functions (LDF1, LDF2 and LDF3) are calculated by formulas. If LDF1 is greater than LDF2 and LDF3, a low level of resistance of the body to the toxic effect of oxygen is determined. If LDF2 is more than LDF1 and LDF3, then average level of body resistance to toxic action of oxygen is determined. If LDF3 is more than LDF1 and LDF2, a high level of body resistance to oxygen toxicity is determined.

EFFECT: method provides rapid assessment of the probable toxic effect of oxygen on a person by combining several criteria into a single model.
