METHOD FOR TREATING MYOPIA Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: medicine, ophthalmology. SUBSTANCE: one should perform transconjunctival stimulating impact onto ciliary muscle either with laser or ultrasound and/or electrostimulation. Moreover, additionally, one should train accommodation between stimulation seances daily at complete glasses correction due to periodic removal of sight from the object of visual work laterally to the object situated at the distance of more than 3 m against patient's eyes, in combination with accommodation-fusion stereotraining performed due to replacing occasional dotted stereograms or autostereograms for 3-5 min from the distance of 15-20 cm against patient's eyes up to the distance of 1.0-2.0 m and back at the rate of 10-15 cm/sec. Stimulation of ciliary muscle is conducted in 5-10 d. Accommodation training is carried out for 30-90 min. The method enables to remove accommodation weakness, provide its stores and stabilize myopia. EFFECT: increased acuity. 2 cl, 4 ex
