FIELD: processes and equipment for electron beam welding, possibly of refractory and heat resistant materials in different branches of machine engineering. SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes high voltage power source, vacuum chamber, cathode, potential bias grid with opening, accelerating anode with opening, electromagnetic focusing lens and electromagnetic deflection system. Each electromagnetic focusing lens is in the form of annular tube inducting magnetic field, made of superconducting material and having ends separated by means of groove and gap between ends. EFFECT: enhanced quality of welding due to improved focusing of electron beam, lowered power consumption and size of apparatus. 3 dwg
