FIELD: electron-beam fusion welding of refractory and fire resistant materials, possibly in different branches of industry.
SUBSTANCE: cathode is placed inside near-cathode electrode. Cathode and accelerating anode with opening are connected with high voltage DC source. Magnetic lens is formed by main electrically conducting flared portion and coaxial relative to it additional electrically conducting flared portions. Main and additional flared portions are narrowed along arcs of electron orbits and they are combined one with another in wide part of each flared portion; cross sections of flared portions are reduced in direction from common combined zone to opposite end of each flared portion. Each flared portion has lengthwise slit.
EFFECT: simultaneous welding of several articles due to using several electron beams formed from one beam, enhanced efficiency.
