FIELD: radiolocation, ground and airborne radars with mode of passive detection and measurement of coordinates of nonradiating targets. SUBSTANCE: invention consists in additional measurement of elevation angle of radar with regard to receiving position besides angle with scanning radar, angle of receiving position, time of delay of reflected signal relative to direct signal and angle of elevation of target relative to receiving position. Horizontal range to target is found by mathematical expression. EFFECT: widened application field of procedure measuring range to target for case of unspecified relative positions of receiving position and scanning radar. 2 dwg
