FIELD: low- voltage data displays built around luminescent cathodes. SUBSTANCE: universal matrix screen that can be used to display all kinds of information including texts, alphanumeric and symbolic data, and the like has vacuum envelope assembled of convex enclosure and planar anode plate, phosphor- covered anode electrodes, and connecting conductors covered with insulation layer, as well as holders mounting set of control electrodes and set of directly heated cathodes; these holders are mounted inside vacuum envelope in parallel planes, control electrodes being orthogonal to anode electrodes; the latter and control electrodes are made in the form of wires; anode plate mounts in addition at least two insulating bars with lugs dictating pitch of anode electrodes disposed between lugs; holder for control electrodes is made in the form of two insulating bars with lugs dictating pitch of control electrodes disposed between lugs, second pair of bars being perpendicular to first one.
