METHOD FOR DETERMINING RISK OF FIBROUS CHANGES IN LUNGS AND LIVER Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

Abstract RU 2218094 C1

FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves simultaneously setting two polymerase chain reactions with three pairs of different primers on marker gene of growth hormone, on S and Z alleles of α1-anti-trypsin gene. The first polymerase chain reaction is performed with primer on marker gene of growth hormone on mutant S allele of α1-anti-trypsin gene and mutant Z allele of α1-antitrypsin gene. The second polymerase chain reaction is performed with primer on marker gene of growth hormone and two primers on normal S and Z alleles of α1-anti-trypsin gene. Then, gel electrophoresis of products received from both polymerase chain reactions for analyzing availability and lack of nucleotide links on S and Z alleles of α1-anti-trypsin gene both in homozygote and heterozygote versions. No mutant nucleotide links on S and Z alleles being detected, risk of fibrous changes to occur in lung and liver is to be estimated as less than 20%. Available heterozygote mutations of nucleotide links on S alleles only being detected, the risk is to be estimated as 20-50%. Available heterozygote mutations of nucleotide links on Z alleles only being detected, the risk is to be estimated as 50-80%. Homozygote mutations of nucleotide links on both S and Z alleles only being detected, the risk is to be estimated as greater than 80%. EFFECT: high accuracy in risk estimation. 2 dwg
