FIELD: construction engineering; erection and repair of pipe lines. SUBSTANCE: proposed device has frame and bearing members with rollers. Bearing members are mounted over perimeter in side walls of frame for motion and fixation. Secured on side walls of frame on its outside are spools for tape insulation. Split frame consists of two parts with detachable joint. Device is provided with rotor secured on frame and drive chain secured around it and rim of drive with sprocket fitted on it and thrown into engagement with chain. Engine and lever-handle are secured on rim of drive. Engine is kinematically linked with sprocket; split rotor and rim of drive consist of two parts with detachable joints. Halves of rotor are mounted on pipe line and drive chain is secured. Then halves of rim of drive are assembled. Roller axles are inclined relative to longitudinal axis of pipe line. Tape insulation rolls are secured on spools. Then, engine is started and rotor rotates frame with spools, thus winding tape spirally at longitudinal motion of device relative to pipe line.
