FIELD: stereologic analysis of spatial organization of objects. SUBSTANCE: proposed method intended for analyzing objects by their planar images which may be found useful for lighting and electronic engineering, confocal laser microscopy, and also for computer-assisted, magnetic resonance and ultrasonic tomography involves following procedures. Objects are tested by n-dimensional stereologic probe to determine distribution of size of object apparent images obtained, and characteristic values of object size are evaluated by mode of dimensional distribution of apparent images. Degree of matching between model and actual distribution is estimated visually and/or by statistical methods. EFFECT: enlarged functional capabilities at high precision of stereologic analysis. 9 cl, 4 dwg, 3 tbl
