FIELD: powder metallurgy, production of contact plates for current collectors. SUBSTANCE: way to manufacture contact plates from powder material includes formation of charge containing iron, copper, nickel, zinc stearate, plastic working of billets of contact plates, their sintering and impregnation in molten lead which surface is protected by layer of charcoal powder with following proportion of components in contact plate after impregnation, per cent by mass: copper 13.0-17.0; nickel 0.8-1.0; phosphorus 0.1-0.3; zinc stearate 0.2-0.6, lead 24.0-27.0; iron being the balance. Plastic working of billets of contact plates is executed along longitudinal side of billet in matrix. Short sides of its split are located in plane perpendicular to axis of tool and come in the form of broken line forming angle α under 180 degrees at vertex. Prior to sintering butts of billets of contact plates are cut on both sides at angle of not more than 90 degrees.
