FIELD: acceleration engineering; high-energy electron beam generation. SUBSTANCE: switch-mode power system affording correction of equilibrium orbit radius by end of acceleration cycle has storage capacitor 4 connected through branches of thyristors 5 and 6 assembled in current inverter circuit to windings 2 and 3 which are differentially connected in series, diode 7 being inserted in circuits of compensating winding 3. Power supply 8 is connected in parallel with winding 2 through switching choke 9 and capacitor 10. The latter is connected through diode 7 to winding 3; diode 7 and winding 3 are shorted out by diode 12. Low-voltage power supply 13 is connected through choke 14 to field winding 2. Correction circuit choke 15 and thyristor 16 are connected in parallel with thyristor 11. Power supply 8 is connected through variable resistor 17 to one plate of correcting capacitor 18 which is connected in parallel with winding 3 and diode 7 through correction circuit thyristor 19 and resistor 20. Such interconnection of betatron power system components for charging correcting capacitor 18 does not require additional high-voltage dc power supply. Due to connection of correction circuit thyristor 19 to common point of connection of diodes 12 and 7 reverse voltage across this thyristor is reduced by value of no-load voltage across compensating winding 3 thereby providing for reduction of mass and size, as well as cost of equilibrium orbit radius correction circuit and, hence, for reducing mass, size, and cost of system. Newly inserted in power system simple equilibrium orbit radius correction circuit incorporating choke 14 and thyristor 16 is distinguished by small mass, size, and cost and provides for magnetic field correction at end of acceleration cycle. EFFECT: enhanced reliability, reduced size, mass, and cost of power system. 1 cl, 4 dwg
