FIELD: environmental control. SUBSTANCE: invention is related to clearing of surface of liquid from such contaminants as spilt oil and deals with method and gear separating floating contaminants from body of water. Method includes installation of tank for collection of floating contaminants from body of water, formation of sedimentation in tank, provision for passage of water carrying floating contaminants from surface zone over threshold to remove floating contaminants into sedimentation tank, discharge of water from tank to keep sedimentation and to ensure passage of water flow and contaminants downwards, into tank for collection of floating contaminants, continuous deviation of water flow and contaminants towards separation zone B. Water flow and contaminants passing downwards on surface of zone B are deviated towards zone A. Zone B is made circular and surrounding zone A. Gear to separate floating contaminants includes collection tank submerged into body of water with formation of chamber A in it for collection of contaminants, for intake of water flow and floating contaminants carried by water, pump to discharge water from collection tank, to keep sedimentation in it and to ensure passage of water flow and contaminants carried by it downwards, into chamber A for collection and pump to deviate water flow passing downwards into separation chamber B. The latter is displaced in horizontal direction from collection chamber A. Gear to separate floating contaminants can include collection tank for contaminants, separation tank forming separation zone B and pump to transfer water flow and contaminants into separation zone. Pump includes internal pipe directed upwards with hole for overflow of water that communicates with separation zone B. Gear in this case is fitted with device deviating water flow into vertical circular conduit surrounding internal pipe which lower end is open into separation chamber B. EFFECT: increased efficiency of cleaning of water pond from floating contaminants thanks to diminished velocity in separation zone and expansion of separation zone. 16 cl, 15 dwg
