FIELD: methods testing quality of multilayer and surface-strengthened articles. SUBSTANCE: technique establishing physical- mechanical properties of multilayer and surface-strengthened materials consists in excitation of vibrations in examined specimen before and after removal of layer of material, in determination of modulus of elasticity of removed layer of material and in making judgment on properties of material by difference of moduli of elasticity of removed layers of material. In addition density of starting material is found by hydrostatic weighing, longitudinal vibrations are excited in starting material and modulus of elasticity is determined, then examined layer of material of equal thickness is removed from four sides of specimen, density of remaining material is found by hydrostatic weighing, longitudinal vibrations are excited and modulus of elasticity of removed layer is established by computation. Thereupon next layer of specimen is removed and operations required for establishment of modulus of elasticity of material of examined removed layer are repeated. EFFECT: simplified technique establishing moduli of elasticity of materials, increased accuracy of measurement of parameters coupled to modulus of elasticity. 1 dwg
