FIELD: electrical and electrophysical equipment. SUBSTANCE: fast-response cutout that functionally integrates switching apparatus and protective gear in the form of fuse and can be both pulse controlled and automatically controlled has changeable element incorporating series-connected electrically explosive section and exploded sections apart from main current-carrying section. Gas-producing mixture held in insulating chamber is disposed at one end of electrically explosive section of changeable element in direct contact with the latter. Chamber has channels providing communication of its inner space with space above insulatingmaterial piston disposed directly at changeable element exploded sections. Mounted on other end of changeable element exploded sections is cone made of insulating material. EFFECT: enhanced speed of response, reduced ratio of emergency current being handled to rated value. 1 cl, 1 dwg
