FIELD: laser engineering; electric-discharge lasers. SUBSTANCE: proposed laser has discharge chamber, metal anode in the form of screen pulled on former, metal cathode, dc voltage supply, gas mixture pumping-out and pumping-in systems, and optical cavity. Anode screen transparency is chosen between 50 and 70%. Spark gaps measuring 3-5 mm are formed by insulated conductors on rear side of anode. Insulated conductors forming spark gaps are connected to anode former and are spaced 2-3 cm apart through anode length. Simultaneous breakdown of all spark gaps is ensured due to isolation of their inherent inductance. EFFECT: enhanced homogeneity and peak radiation power. 1 cl, 4 dwg
